Tyrant & Snake

about

Solace’s first release of new material since 2015’s, The Ruin of Ghosts. The pandemic and the political climate has caused many of us to withdraw inward. Creativity was one way to deal with this isolation and uncertainty. For the last 4 years, Jeremiah has been tinkering, toiling and experimenting with a return to his creative roots, percussion. With the oppressive sounds of a tyrant and the allure from a tempting snake, this song expresses deep feelings of seclusion in complex patterns, but of hope and renewal in the quiet moments. Tyrant & Snake is a euphemism to how Jeremiah views the struggles of this world, sometimes sounding aggressive with layers of percussion, other moments are introspective and calm, accentuating certain drums in the melee of composition.
